Business Activity

NLB d.d. has rich cultural heritage, that has been added to for decades. With regular and constant purchases of artworks we have been supporting the production, development and promotion of Slovenian fine art for a long time.

We have created an extensive Art Collection of Slovenian Fine Art of the 20th and 21st centuries and have preserved numerous items related to money, banking and banking practices, which represent a unique Banking Museum collection for Slovenia. Due to their exceptional importance for the country, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia declared both collections as national treasures of the Republic of Slovenia in 2018.

With the aim of professional management of the national treasure, the NLB Cultural Heritage Institute was established in 2020. It is 100% owned by NLB d.d. and is a member of the NLB Group.

By establishing and financing NLB MUZA, NLB not only protects and preserves, but also upgrades, supplements, interprets and presents it to the general public. In doing so, it lives its mission as a socially responsible financial institution and contributes to global knowledge and know-how of the banking profession.

NLB MUZA takes care of the Bank's collections of cultural heritage, supplementing them with further purchases of artworks and presenting them to the general public. It manages the museum and gallery at Čopova 3 in Ljubljana, where a collection of banking and bank-related items is exhibited. It also manages the Art Collection of Slovenian Fine Arts of the 20th  and 21st Centuries.
