OUR MARKETS
COMPLIANCE AND INTEGRITY
We boast properties that are cultural monuments of national and local importance, and our movable cultural heritage collections - the NLB Art Collection, the NLB Museum Collection of Banking Items and the NLB Numismatic Collection - were declared national treasures of Slovenia in October 2018.
By decorating our business premises with works of art, respecting the history of banking and collecting baking technology as well as supporting talented artists we are among the companies that take care of our cultural heritage and thus enrich Slovenia.
In 2021, Bankarium, the Slovenian Banking Museum, was launched under the auspices of NLB, later renamed MUZA. At MUZA, the general public can learn about the banking heritage and the impact of banking practices on people’s lives over time in an interesting way.
In 2023, we resumed the acquisition of works of art, not only as a patron, but primarily as a partner and supporter of contemporary art in Southeastern Europe. The NLB Art Collection has thus grown into an international collection with a new design and structure, focusing on contemporary art. We acquired works by nineteen artists and artists of the middle and younger generations from all markets in our region, and these will also be shown in the first exhibition.
By commissioning, buying and presenting contemporary art from South Eastern Europe, the NLB Group aims to become a central supporter and partner to artists in the region. By complementing the art collection and the gallery, and by developing an accompanying programme focused on the wider region, we will enrich both the Bank’s business premises and the public spaces of various communities, contribute to improving the existing conditions of artistic production and infrastructure in the region and open the door for art to enter the everyday lives of the people who live and work in the region.”
Make cities and human settlements open, safe, resilient and sustainable
Sustainable development is firmly anchored in the NLB Group’s values, which are a key driver of our organisational culture. Sustainable practice and human resource management are closely interlinked through several initiatives.
