COMPLIANCE AND INTEGRITY
Together with the employees we are striving to improve the living conditions in the local communities and will continue to contribute by supporting humanitarian projects in the future.
Storm assistance 2023
Like the rest of Slovenia, we at NLB were shocked by the events in the affected municipalities, at the same time admiring the dedication of all the competent services and generous volunteers. Through systemic measures, aid for employees and donations, we helped the hardest-hit municipalities and donated more than EUR 9 million for flood relief.
Integration of the deaf into the world of the hearing
An important step towards better integration of the deaf and hard of hearing into the world of the hearing was taken by the Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Ljubljana with our support through the Theatre Interpreter initiative. In the first part of the initiative, more than 50% of deaf people, including children, saw 12 performances with interpretation into Slovenian sign language. We were extremely pleased with the sincere and enthusiastic responses of the visitors and we proudly continue supporting the initiative and planning additional activities.
Audio plays by Dane Zajc accessible to all culture lovers
In cooperation with SNT Drama Ljubljana, we have made audio plays by Dane Zajc available free of charge to all culture lovers. We particularly thought of vulnerable groups, to brighten up their long, lonely evenings. We invite you to visit the Drama Audio Library and already today enjoy listening to the audio play by Dane Zajc – The River Children.
Besides large organisations such as the Slovenian Red Cross, the Association of Friends of Youth of Slovenia - ZPMS and the Slovenian Paraplegic Association, we also support a number of smaller humanitarian organisations with donations. We do not charge fees to NLB clients making payments to registered campaigns of humanitarian organisations, thus helping the latter to raise funds for their activity.
It has become a tradition for us to take part in the humanitarian campaign “A Wink to the Sun”, helping children from socially disadvantaged families to a free holiday. For this purpose, our employees, in the company of Blaž Brodnjak, President of the Management Board, and famous media personalities, are taking calls with donations at the NLB Contact Centre.
We are also regular blood donors. According to the Red Cross, 356 blood donors were registered at NLB in 2018. All blood donors employed by NLB are given a day off work and receive a symbolic gift on the day they donate blood.
It is our duty to help society’s most vulnerable groups, especially children. We are aware of our responsibility towards the wider social environment and we are proud of the numerous humanitarian projects we have supported:
We contribute to society through philanthropy, charity and volunteering. These initiatives are aimed in particular at socially disadvantaged groups of citizens or people who, for various reasons and circumstances, need help.
