Knowledge and skills to manage your own finances

We strive to bring visitors closer to the cultural heritage of money, banks and banking practices, explaining their impact on people’s lives throughout history to the present day and equip them with knowledge about personal finance. Every visitor leaves with a new insight: Money plays an important role in our lives, but it is how we manage it that has the biggest impact on our lives.

There is a strong focus on financial literacy, which is addressed in three ways at the museum.

  1. The permanent exhibition at the museum reveals the development and evolution of money throughout history and how it is intertwined with everyday life.
  2. The central area of the museum, called the financial maze, is dedicated to self-discovery of personal finance management with young people in mind, where they learn how to improve their money management through fun games. In the financial maze, they learn about the basics of personal finance management and are confronted with financial situations and possible solutions in a playful way.
  3. Financial literacy is taught more intensively and in greater depth in financial literacy workshops. In the hope that a visit to our museum will equip you with knowledge for life, we offer a free of charge personal financial literacy workshop on the last Thursday of every month.

All three parts of the museum are dedicated to providing individuals with the knowledge and skills to manage their own finances. This enables them to lead better quality lives and to focus on a sustainable future.
