Renovation of the solar power plant at Kredarica

By investing in the sustainable renovation of one of the most frequented mountain huts, we are preserving the nature of the Triglav National Park.

The highest solar power plant in Slovenia

The Triglav Lodge at Kredarica is a very popular high-mountain stop. Last year, it was visited by 60,000 hikers and recorded 18,000 overnight stays, which is why it needs a reliable energy supply. For this purpose, alternative energy sources (solar panels and a wind generator) are primarily used, with the addition of a generator.

NLB provided financial support for the complete renovation of the solar power plant, followed by the energy renovation of the roof this summer. This increases the efficiency of the power plant and significantly reduces dependency on other energy sources, which will result in an even lower environmental impact than before.

At the Ljubljana Matica Alpine Club, we place great emphasis on the impact of our activities on the environment and on sustainable development in general. By replacing the solar panels at the Triglav Lodge at Kredarica, we will achieve a higher efficiency of the cells and consequently reduce the use of other energy sources for the smooth operation of the lodge and base stations, thanks to technological advancement. This will help us to pursue our strategic sustainability orientation. In this context, we must stress the importance of the partners who made the replacement of the solar panels possible, in particular NLB d.d. as the main sponsor of the replacement. We are pleased that together we have recognised the importance of such activities and will continue to collaborate in similar activities in the future.

Andrej Lasič,
At NLB, we put sustainable business at the heart of our operations, so we are extremely proud to be involved in sustainable projects, in particular on such representative buildings as the Triglav Lodge at Kredarica. We are delighted that the lodge, which has a special symbolic meaning for Slovenians, will now be even more environmentally friendly with our help.
